Since the launch of WHS, we have seen an increase in the number of general play score submissions by players and, in turn, an increase in the number of score intents that have not been satisfied.

It remains the player’s responsibility to ensure that they are satisfied within the system as general play scores are to be returned before midnight on the day of play

Open Score Intent:

After 24 hours players will be given a warning for failing to submit a pre-registered round.

They will then have 48 hours from the warning being issued to resolve and submit the score.

Failure to do so would see the addition of a penalty score equal Course Rating™ + Course Handicap™.

Submitted Score:

24 hours after being submitted the attester will be given a warning for failing to approve a pre-registered round.

They will then have 48 hours from the warning being issued to approve the score.

Failure to do so would see the addition of a penalty score. Where a score has been submitted for verification by the MyEG app, we have the detail of the score submitted so we are able to use this score instead of creating a generic score of Course Rating + Course Handicap.

Below is a flow diagram to show how this will be processed and applied.

The committee could also decide that the player’s Handicap Index® should be frozen, and a formal warning issued.

A formal warning would result in the withdrawal of the players handicap index.
